The cottages are at the heart of Scotland's largest National Scenic Area, designated by the Countryside Commission as an area of outstanding natural scenic beauty.
Loch Gairloch is on the North West Coast of the Highlands of Scotland, looking out onto the north part of the Isle of Skye to the west, Harris to the north west, with the Torridon and Applecross mountains in view to south and south east.
Loch Gairloch has the foothills of the Torridon mountains as its southeastern shore, and the entire range within fifteen miles, along with many other outstanding mountains and glens within easy drive time. Some of Scotlands finest climbing is only minutes away, with plenty of less challenging, but scenically marvelous lower level walks. The coast walks are superb
Access by road is by the A832, leading from Inverness in the south east and Ullapool in the north. A short section of the road to the south is still single track, but this is rapidly being upgraded to two lane carriageway.
We are in one of the hotspots for whale dolphin and porpoise sightings and these can often be watched from your cottage windows. Seal and rare birds, such as Black and Red Throated Divers also present themselves more or less daily.
We have two south-facing cottages. One has a single bedroom and is arranged for two people, the other has two bedrooms for four guests. We have provided self-catering accommodation here since 1989 and most of our bookings are from satisfied guests returning, or recommending us to their friends.
Our cottages are located on the sea front at the north side of Loch Gairloch. Most shops, bars, restaurants etc. are within a few hundred metres. The beach, loch and the Torridon mountains will be your view from the south facing windows, with Skye in view to the west.
We live in the middle one of these cottages and the main garden ground to the rear is common to all three. This allows a large, sheltered garden for all.

East Cottage:
This is comfortable for four people with two bedrooms, and central heating included.
The ground floor has:
Double bedroom. Lounge/dining room with colour TV, radio/cassette, attractive focal point electric fire. Kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster etc. Bathroom has an electric shower with the bath and radiator / heated towel rail.
The first floor has:
Airy twin bedroom with bay window overlooking the loch, mountains and Skye....breathtaking! All beds have continental quilts and polyester-cotton bed linen, towels are not provided. The heating radiators are linked to our own central heating and the cottage is well insulated. Electricity and heating are included in the cost. Wi-Fi available.

West Cottage:
This is a cosy one bedroom cottage and very comfortable for two. It shares the stunning views of Loch Gairloch, the Torridon Mountains, Skye and five other islands. We find guests are reluctant to move away from the lounge window views!
The double bedroom has an en-suite shower room with heated towel rail. The open plan lounge/dining/kitchen has electric and microwave cookers, fridge, kettle, toaster and all the usual odds and ends you would expect in the kitchen. There is a comfortable 2+1 lounge suite, colour TV and radio/cassette. Heating to each room is by attractive electric radiant or convector heaters. All electricity is by £1 coin meter, though this was set at current supply rate many years ago and not increased. Due to the effective insulation, electricity is not expensive, averaging £3-£4 per week. Electric blankets are available. Continental quilts and polyester-cotton bed linen are provided, but not towels.
Our cottages are available from Easter to October at prices from £185 to £320 per week.
